Job summary

Whiteland Engineering Ltd is seeking an experienced CNC Milling Programmer / Setter / Operator to join our North Devon workshop. This permanent or contract role offers a salary of £37,440 – £45,760 per year, dependent on experience and qualifications.

You will program, set and operate CNC milling machines, read engineering drawings and contribute to high-precision production. We value our people and provide long‑term career development in a supportive, family‑run environment.

Qualifications

• Experience programming, setting and operating CNC milling machines.
• Understanding of machining principles, tooling and materials.
• Engineering apprenticeship or equivalent; experience with Hurco/XYZ/Siemens controls preferred.

• Manufacture high-precision components to tight tolerances.

• Programming, setting and operating CNC milling machines
• Manufacturing high-precision components to tight tolerances
• Reading and interpreting engineering drawings
• Carrying out quality checks and maintaining production documentation
• Supporting continuous improvement and problem-solving
• Working as part of a close-knit, skilled engineering team

• Programming, setting and operating experience
• Strong understanding of machining principles, tooling and materials
• Engineering apprenticeship or equivalent experience
• Experience with Hurco, XYZ or Siemens controls would be highly desirable
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• A proactive approach and pride in producing quality work
