Job summary

Ernest Gordon Recruitment Limited is seeking a CNC Miller (Programmer / Setter / Operator) in Halifax, West Yorkshire. The role offers a permanent day shift with an early finish every Friday and optional overtime, with pay around £17.50–£19.80 per hour.

You will program, set and operate 3- and 4-axis vertical milling machines using Heidenhain controls, loading and editing programs at the machine, and inspecting components for tight tolerances in a modern precision shop.

Qualifications

• Experience programming, setting and operating 3- and 4-axis vertical CNC milling machines.
• Knowledge of Heidenhain controls and ability to interpret engineering drawings.
• Commutable to Halifax and able to work day shift with early finish on Fridays.

Responsibilities

• Program, set and operate 3- and 4-axis vertical CNC milling machines using Heidenhain controls.
• Load, prove, edit and optimise programs at the machine; select tooling, feeds and speeds.
• Carry out first-off and in-process inspections to ensure tight tolerances and surface finishes.
