Job summary

Rise Technical Recruitment is seeking a CNC Milling Operator or Machinist for a short-term contract running through to December. You will operate 3-axis CNC milling machines on plastic components, reading drawings and making basic programme edits.

The role offers daytime hours, with a typical 8:00am-5:00pm schedule Mon-Thu and 8:00am-12:00pm on Fridays. Commutable from Newport and surrounding areas, four-month contract with possible extension.

Qualifications

• CNC milling or CNC machining experience.
• Able to read engineering drawings.
• Able to carry out basic CNC programme edits and adjustments.
• Confident using measuring and inspection equipment.
• Experience machining plastics or metals.

Responsibilities

• Operating 3-axis CNC milling machines
• Machining plastic components in small batches
• Reading and working from engineering drawings
• Editing existing CNC programmes and making minor adjustments
• Using vernier callipers, micrometers and other measuring equipment
