Job summary

Matchtech in Poole, Dorset is recruiting for a CNC Miller/Turner (Setter/Operator, Level 2) to join a well‑established engineering manufacturer. The role involves setting and operating CNC milling and turning/mill-turn machines, reading engineering drawings and producing components to spec, with quality checks and a tidy, safe work area.

It is a permanent, day-shift role with 39 hours per week and overtime at time and a half.

Qualifications

• CNC setting and turning experience in milling/turning.
• Able to read engineering drawings and work to tolerances.
• Quality oriented with strong self-inspection.
• Experience in maritime/automotive/aerospace sectors is a bonus.

CNC Miller/Turner (Day Shift) | Perm | Poole (BH17)

I am recruiting for a CNC Miller/Turner (Setter/Operator, Level 2) to join a well‑established engineering manufacturer working across maritime, automotive and aerospace projects.

Key Details

• Location: Poole, Dorset (BH17 0GG)
• Contract: Inside IR35
• Rate: £17.50 to £18.00 per hour
• Hours: 39 per week, overtime paid at time and a half
• Core working hours (must be worked): Mon to Thu, 9:00am to 4:00pm
• Typical day shift pattern: start 7:00am to 8:00am, finish 4:00pm to 5:00pm (flexi‑time around core hours)
• Friday opening: 8:00am to 12:00pm (where needed to fulfil hours)

What you will be doing

• Setting and operating CNC milling and turning / mill‑turn machines
• Reading and working from engineering drawings
• Producing components to spec, checking own work, and completing quality inspections
• Keeping a tidy and safe work area and working to site processes

What I am looking for

• CNC setting and operating experience (milling and turning)
• Confident reading drawings and working to tolerances
• Quality focused and comfortable with self inspection
• Sector experience in maritime/automotive/aerospace is a bonus
