CNC Miller Setter Operator
Location: Bristol
Hours:
The successful candidate will be based across one of two manufacturing sites, with the shift pattern determined by the site and business requirements.
Site 1
- Day Shift:
- Monday to Thursday: 7:30am – 4:00pm
- Friday: 7:30am – 12:30pm
- Late Shift:
- Monday to Thursday: 2:00pm – 12:00am
- 30% shift premium
Site 2
- Double Days (Rotating):
- Earlies:
- Monday to Thursday: 6:00am – 2:00pm
- Friday: 6:00am – 11:00am
- Lates:
- Monday to Thursday: 2:00pm – 10:00pm
- Friday: 11:00am – 4:00pm
- 25% shift premium
Although you'll primarily be based at one site, there may occasionally be the opportunity to support the other manufacturing site within the group, with reasonable notice provided.
Salary:
£26,102 – £48,272 per annum DOE (including applicable shift premiums),
Candidates with basic operating experience are welcome to apply, with higher rates available for individuals who can programme, set and operate CNC Milling machines independently.
Key Responsibilities of a CNC Miller Setter Operator:
- Set and operate 3, 4 and 5 Axis CNC Milling machines.
- Work with Heidenhain and Fanuc control systems.
- Manufacture precision components from a range of materials.
- Set tooling, fixtures and work offsets.
- Produce components to engineering drawings and customer specifications.
- Carry out first-off and in-process inspection using precision measuring equipment.
- Monitor machine performance and optimise machining processes.
- Maintain quality standards and production targets.
- Assist with continuous improvement and 5S activities.
- Complete production documentation accurately.
- Work safely and maintain excellent housekeeping standards.
Key Skills & Experience CNC Miller Setter Operator:
- Previous CNC Milling experience.
- Experience with Heidenhain and/or Fanuc controls.
- Ability to set and operate CNC Milling machines.
- Programming experience is advantageous but not essential.
- Experience working on 3, 4 or 5 Axis machining centres.
- Ability to read engineering drawings.
- Good knowledge of precision measuring equipment including micrometers and verniers.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- Aerospace machining experience would be advantageous.
