Job summary

Workforce Staffing in Abingdon is seeking a skilled CNC Miller Setter to join a high-tech supplier working across Oxford/Cambridge Arc. You will set up and operate 3-, 4- and 5-axis milling machines, ensuring tight tolerances and first-pass quality.

The role requires reading engineering drawings, using CMM inspection when needed, and contributing to continuous improvements within a 5S ISO 9001:2015 environment. Regular overtime and a company pension are offered.

Qualifications

• Experience with Fanuc controls or similar.
• Experience with multi-axis CNC machining.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• CMM inspection experience desirable.

Responsibilities

• CNC machining and setting.
• Operate 3, 4 & 5 axis milling machines.
• Perform CMM inspection and produce reports when required.
• Use initiative to improve quality and throughput.
• Work within a 5S manufacturing environment and ISO 9001:2015 standards.

Job Title: CNC Miller Setter

Job Type: Days based, Perm

Hours: 8.00am-4.30pm Monday to Thursday and from 8.00am-1.00pm on Fridays.

Location: Abingdon

Salary: £21 - £22 per hour (£40,404 - £42,328)

A skilled CNC Miller Setter is required for a major supplier to high-tech companies in the UK?s Oxford/Cambridge Arc of Innovation and Technology. Supplying to Nuclear fusion, Space Technologies, Medical innovation, F1 and many other demanding industries.

We are seeking a skilled candidate with experience of multi axis CNC Machining.

Your duties include:

• CNC Machining, and setting
• Operation of 3,4 & 5 axis CNC milling machines.
• Performing CMM inspection and production of inspection reports when required.
• Using initiative to improve quality/throughput etc o Working to scheduled lists
• Operate within a 5's manufacturing environment and to ISO 9001 :2015 quality standards

EXPERIENCE:

• Demonstrable experience of Fanuc controls or similar but not essential
• Experience of working with a variety of materials to tight tolerances
• Thorough experience of multi axis CNC machining
• Use of inspection tools (able to perform 100% inspection) and CMM desirable
• Thorough experience of reading & interpreting component drawings and instructions Working to high quality standards
• Programming ? Advantageous
