Job summary

ion-tec Ltd in Sheffield is seeking a skilled CNC Miller to join our small, friendly engineering shop. You will take a drawing and a piece of material, setting up, programming and operating Fanuc or Heidenhain CNC machines to produce precision components.

We work on 1-off and small-batch parts up to 1 tonne, using carbon steels, aluminium, plastics and stainless materials. Pay is £17.00–£20.00 per hour depending on experience; hours are Mon-Thurs 08:00-16:30, Fridays 08:00-15:30.

Qualifications

• Experience operating CNC milling machines with precision outcomes.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings accurately.
• Basic mathematical calculations for tolerances and measurements.

Responsibilities

• Operate CNC milling and grinding machines to spec.
• Read and interpret technical drawings and set up tooling.
• Maintain calibration and perform routine maintenance on CNC equipment.
• Keep a clean, safe workspace and follow health and safety standards.
