Job summary

Omega Plc in North Bristol seeks an experienced CNC Miller Programmer Setter Operator to program, set and operate CNC Mills using Heidenhain controls. The role involves reading drawings, ensuring tight tolerances and maintaining quality.

The successful candidate will have at least 5 years in a tool making/engineering environment, ideally with aerospace tooling experience, and be familiar with MRP systems and SOPs. There is a day shift with a supportive family-style team environment.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Program, set and operate CNC mills using Heidenhain controls.
• Read technical drawings and machine to customer specs.
• Maintain safe, clean workspace and follow safety rules.
• Report breakdowns and equipment faults to management.
• Support continuous improvement activities.
• Assist with quotations and tooling trials.
• Self-inspect own work with precision tools.

Job Title: CNC Miller Programmer Setter Operator Shift: Day shift Monday to Thursday 7.30am to 4.30pm Friday 7.30am to 12.30pm Location: North Bristol A great role with a fast-growing, established precision engineering business based in North Bristol. They are looking for a time-served CNC Miller to program, set and operate CNC Mills using Heidenhain controls.

Key Responsibilities - CNC Miller Programmer Setter Operator

• CNC Miller Programmer Setter Operator
• They will be required to accurately read and interpret technical drawings to correctly machine a variety of materials to customer specific processes and requirements, perform appropriate duties as assigned by management, maintain a safe and clean workspace and follow established safety rules and regulations.
• Report breakdowns, equipment faults and concerns to Management
• Be actively involved in improvement activities to support the achievement of departmental and company objectives
• Ensure all lost time, minor and trivial accidents are reported
• Undertake continuous training and development
• Support the engineering team with quotations if required
• Assist in tooling buy off and trials
• Ability to self-inspect own work using precision inspection tools and devices
• Assembling, fitting, and repairing tools

• Previous experience within the aerospace tool making industry advantageous

• Experience working with an MRP system and following standard operating procedures / work order instructions
