Job summary

Workforce Staffing Ltd is recruiting for an experienced CNC Programmer/Setter/Operator (Milling) in Atherstone. The role focuses on programming, setting and operating Heidenhain-controlled milling machines for 3–4 axis work on medium to large fabrications and castings.

You will read engineering drawings, set up tooling, and ensure parts meet tight tolerances, with overtime and a 4-day week on offer. On-site role with day shifts.

Qualifications

• Time-served apprenticeship or extensive machining experience.
• Solid ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Experience producing precision components to high standards.
• Knowledge of work-holding methods and tooling.
• Experience programming on Heidenhain controls.

Responsibilities

• Program, set and operate Heidenhain-controlled milling machines.
• Machine 3–4 axis parts from stainless steel, aluminium, mild steel and cast iron.
• Read drawings and inspect parts to tight tolerances.
• Apply appropriate cutting parameters and tooling.
• Carry out own inspections and work with minimal supervision.

CNC Programmer / Setter / Operator ? Milling

£36,000 to £40,000 per annum - DOE

Day Shift / 7am to 5pm - Monday to Thursday

Atherstone

We are currently recruiting on behalf of an established engineering manufacturer for an experienced CNC Programmer / Setter / Operator ? Milling to join their team on a permanent basis. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced CNC machinist with strong Heidenhain programming, setting and operating experience, particularly those with a background in machining medium to large fabrications and castings.

The Role

You will be responsible for programming, setting and operating universal bed-type milling machines using a Heidenhain control system. The successful candidate will have solid experience with 3 and 4-axis machining and be confident working with a variety of materials, including:

• Stainless steel
• Aluminium
• Mild steel
• Cast iron

You will also need previous experience machining medium to large fabrications and castings.

About You

The ideal candidate will have:

• Time-served apprenticeship or extensive relevant machining experience
• Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
• Experience producing precision components to high standards
• Good knowledge of work-holding methods and tooling
• Understanding of cutting parameters and machining processes
• Experience programming directly on Heidenhain control systems
• Experience working with universal milling heads
• Ability to carry out your own inspection and work to tight tolerances
• Experience working within a precision engineering/manufacturing environment
• Experience machining large fabrications and castings
• Safe use of overhead cranes
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• A flexible, reliable and team-focused approach

Hours

39 hours per week / 4-day working week

• Monday to Wednesday: 7:00am to 5:00pm
• Thursday: 7:00am to 4:00pm
• Friday: Overtime available, subject to workload
• There is also a requirement to be flexible with shifts where necessary to provide holiday cover.
