Job summary

Wentworth James Group is seeking a skilled CNC Miller & Programmer to operate and program milling machines, producing precise components to tight specifications.

The role requires hands-on experience with CAD/CAM software (SolidWorks preferred), tooling/setup knowledge, and the ability to read technical drawings. You will work with a variety of manual and automated processes in a dynamic manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a CNC Miller or CNC Programmer.
• Strong mechanical knowledge of machining processes, tooling and fixture setup.
• Proficiency with CAD software such as SolidWorks; CAM programming experience is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and monitor CNC milling machines to produce complex parts with precision.
• Develop and modify CNC programs using CAD/CAM software such as SolidWorks.

• Perform grinding, welding, and assembly tasks as needed to complete components.

Duties

• Set up, operate, and monitor CNC milling machines to produce complex parts with precision and efficiency
• Develop and modify CNC programs using CAD (Computer-Aided Design) and CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing) software such as SolidWorks
• Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications to ensure accurate machining
• Perform grinding, welding, and assembly tasks as needed to complete finished components
• Maintain proper tooling, fixtures, and machine calibration for optimal performance
• Conduct quality inspections using hand tools and measurement devices to verify tolerances
• Support the setup and adjustment of machines for plastics injection molding components
• Utilize basic math skills for measurements, calculations, and troubleshooting during production
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment by adhering to safety protocols

Experience

• Proven experience as a CNC Miller or CNC Programmer in a manufacturing or engineering setting
• Strong mechanical knowledge of machining processes, tooling, and fixture setup
• Proficiency with CAD software such as SolidWorks; experience with CAM programming is highly desirable
• Hands‑on experience with grinding, welding, assembly, and the use of power tools
• Familiarity with plastics injection molding processes is a plus
• Ability to read technical drawings and interpret engineering specifications accurately
• Basic math skills for measurements, calculations, and troubleshooting tasks
• Knowledge of hand tools, tooling selection, and maintenance procedures
