Job summary

Optical Precision is seeking a CNC Miller Setter Operator in the United Kingdom. The role involves setting and running CNC mills, editing programs, and ensuring tolerance per drawings. 40 hours/week, with fixed shifts and overtime as needed.

The successful candidate will maintain machine logs, liaise with engineering teams, and adhere to health, safety, and quality policies. Competitive hourly pay and company benefits apply.

Responsibilities

Job Title: CNC Miller Setter Operator

Due to our continued expansion and strong product portfolio across both motorsport and future automotive, we are looking to recruit a CNC Miller to support Operations

CNC Miller, Setter, Operator - Duties and responsibilities include:

• Cleanliness of work station and maintenance of machines while during and at the end of their shift in line with company TPM Schedule
• Reading and interpreting engineering drawings
• Ability to edit programs to maintain size and tolerance
• Use of manual measuring equipment
• Loading and unloading parts onto machines
• Programme proving of new products as and when required.
• Actively provide details of changes to correct /improve programs that go towards improving machining performance
• Use of Fanuc controls
• Deburring where required
• Maintain notes (machine log book) on current process identifying any issues for following shift
• Help and assist other members of the turning cell when required
• Following daily work to do lists to follow the production schedule issued by Team Leaders
• Programme proving of new products as and when required
• Adhere to all quality, Health and Safety and environmental policies, manuals, objectives, process, procedures and work instructions
• Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) – be accountable for notifying Health and Safety when in need of replacements
• Liaising with production engineering, design and inspection as and when required
• Any additional tasks required

Desirable:

40 hours per week, 8-4:30 Monday to Thursday, 8-2 Friday with flexitime so can start at 7am.
