Job summary

Contek Recruitment are representing a small and established precision engineering business in Stanford-le-Hope seeking an experienced CNC Miller to join their close-knit team. The role involves programming, setting and operating CNC milling machinery across varied components and materials.

You will work with Siemens ShopMill controls where possible and other controls may be considered. The position is permanent, 40 hours per week, with an early/standard dayshift and flexibility around hours.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a CNC Miller.
• Confident programming, setting and operating CNC milling machinery.
• Siemens ShopMill experience would be highly advantageous.
• Experience with alternative CNC controls will also be considered.
• Able to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Comfortable working independently and managing jobs from setup to completion.

• Programming, setting and operating CNC milling machinery.
• Ideally working with Siemens ShopMill controls, other controls also considered.
• Work from engineering drawings to produce precision components.
• Setting machines and selecting appropriate tooling.
• Editing and proving CNC programmes where required.
• Producing both small-batch and longer-run components.
• Carrying out in-process inspection and maintaining quality standards.
• Working to tight tolerances with a high standard of workmanship.

Location: Stanford-le-Hope, SS17
Salary: £18.00 £22.00 per hour DOE
Hours: 40 hours per week Dayshift

Contek Recruitment are currently representing their client, a small and established precision engineering business based in Stanford-le-Hope, who are looking to recruit an experienced CNC Miller to join their close-knit team.

The company manufactures a varied range of subcontract components for a broad customer base, covering sectors from building and structural engineering through to pharmaceutical manufacturing.

This is a varied role suited to a CNC Miller who enjoys working across different components and materials rather than producing the same parts every day. Work will range from small batch components through to longer production runs.

The Role

• Programming, setting and operating CNC milling machinery
• Ideally working with Siemens ShopMill controls, although other control systems will be considered
• Working from engineering drawings to produce precision components
• Setting machines and selecting appropriate tooling
• Editing and proving CNC programmes where required
• Producing both small-batch and longer-run components
• Carrying out in-process inspection and maintaining required quality standards
• Working to tight tolerances and maintaining a high standard of workmanship
• Supporting the wider team within a small, hands-on manufacturing environment

About You
