Job summary

Forged Solutions Group in the United Kingdom is seeking a Time Served CNC Machinist to machine forgings and tooling to drawings across both manual and CNC centres, supporting commercial and aerospace markets.

You will work in a safety-conscious environment with a focus on quality, accuracy and continuous improvement, using inspection gauges and Fanuc controls to deliver precise parts to specification.

Qualifications

  • Machining to tight tolerances (±0.025)
  • Manual turning experience required
  • CNC milling/turning experience essential
  • Understanding of Fanuc controls
  • Good communication skills are essential
  • Part programming is an advantage
  • Flexible and adaptable to workload
  • Windows-based computer skills advantageous
  • Experience machining forgings is an advantage
  • Attention to detail is critical

Responsibilities

  • H&S: work safely and responsibly
  • Conduct pre-shift H&S checks (e.g., Hoist Crane)
  • Maintain 5s housekeeping standards
  • Follow all Quality procedures and processes
  • Machine parts to drawings
  • Use measuring equipment (micrometers, vernier, etc.)
  • Material movements as required

Job Summary

Time Served CNC Machinist. Machine forgings and tooling to specified drawings across both manual and CNC machining centres. The parts machined feed both the commercial and aerospace markets.

Key Objectives of the Role
  • H&S - Work in a safe and responsible manner. (For own and other people's safety).
  • Conduct any pre-shift H&S checks as specified; for example: Hoist Crane.
  • Maintain a high standard of workplace housekeeping (5s Duties)
  • Ensure ALL Quality procedures and processes are followed.
  • Machine parts to drawing.
  • Use measuring equipment (Micrometers, Vernier, Wall Thickness Meter, Surface Roughness gauge).
  • Material Movements.

Working Hours Summary

The Average Standard Hours worked per month are 182.6, approximately 42 hours per week. The role from time to time may require the working of longer hours and weekends. The current shift pattern is known as the 15s and attracts a shift premium of 22%. Historically we have worked a 24/6 operation.
