Job summary

Venatu Consulting Ltd in Great Yarmouth is seeking an experienced CNC Machinist to join a busy, well-equipped machine shop. The role is full-time and on-site, offering competitive hourly pay (£17.00–£20.00) and substantial overtime opportunities to boost earnings.

You will set up, operate and monitor CNC machinery to produce precision components from engineered drawings, ensuring high quality and on-time delivery. The position requires good problem-solving skills and a collaborative approach.

Qualifications

• Experience in CNC machining within a precision engineering or manufacturing environment.
• Good practical skills in CNC turning and/or milling.
• Experience setting up and operating CNC machinery.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and CNC programmes.
• Knowledge of tooling, offsets and machining processes.
• Experience with quality control, inspection and precision measuring equipment.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC turning and milling machines.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
• Select tooling and carry out machine setups.
• Make programme adjustments and tool offsets to achieve tolerances.
• Inspect finished components using measuring equipment.
• Maintain quality standards and meet production deadlines.
• Carry out routine machine maintenance and keep the area safe and organized.
• Work with colleagues to maintain production efficiency and continuous improvement.
