Silcoms II Ltd. is seeking an experienced Nights CNC Machinist to join the precision machining team. You will set up, program and operate CNC machines to manufacture high-precision aerospace components to exacting standards.

This is a night shift role with a night shift allowance on top of the basic salary. Silcoms offers excellent benefits and a path for ongoing development within a business that values its people and technology.

Competenze

• Experience operating CNC machinery in a precision engineering environment.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T.
• Experience machining aerospace components or in a highly regulated industry.

As we continue to grow we're now looking for an experienced CNC Machinist to join our growing Nights Precision Machining team.

Please note that this is a night shift role, and you would receive a night shift allowance in addition to your basic salary.

The Role

As a Nights CNC Machinist, you'll be responsible for setting up, programming and operating CNC machinery to manufacture precision aerospace components to the highest quality standards.

Key responsibilities include:

• Setting up, programming and operating CNC machines to produce precision-engineered components.
• Reading and interpreting engineering drawings, specifications and CNC programs.
• Selecting tooling, fixtures, cutting speeds and feeds for efficient machining.
• Editing CNC programs and adjusting offsets where required.
• Carrying out self-inspection using precision measuring equipment.
• Completing quality documentation and ensuring compliance with aerospace standards.
• Diagnosing machining issues and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
• Working closely with Engineering, Production and Quality teams while maintaining a safe and organised working environment.

About You

You’ll ideally have:

• Previous experience operating and programming CNC machinery within a precision engineering environment.
• The ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and geometric tolerances.
• Experience machining precision components within aerospace, defence or another highly regulated industry.
• Knowledge of quality inspection techniques and precision measuring equipment.
• Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to continuous improvement.
• A commitment to quality, safety and teamwork.
