Silcoms is seeking an experienced Nights CNC Machinist to join our precision machining team. You will program, set up and run CNC machines to manufacture aerospace components to exacting standards, reading drawings and GD&T; selecting tooling and speeds/feeds, and editing programs as needed.

You'll work nights with a shift allowance, benefit from a comprehensive package including pension, healthcare, EAP and generous holiday entitlement, along with career growth in a long-established UK

Competenze

• Experience operating CNC machinery in precision engineering.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and GD&T.
• Experience with aerospace/defence or highly regulated industries.
• Familiarity with precision measurement tools and inspection.

As we continue to grow we're now looking for an experienced CNC Machinist to join our growing Nights Precision Machining team.

At Silcoms, you'll manufacture high-precision aerospace components for some of the world's leading aerospace programmes, using advanced CNC machinery within a business that continues to invest in its people, technology and future growth.

Please note that this is a night shift role, and you would receive a night shift allowance in addition to your basic salary.

The Role

As a Nights CNC Machinist, you'll be responsible for setting up, programming and operating CNC machinery to manufacture precision aerospace components to the highest quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Setting up, programming and operating CNC machines to produce precision-engineered components.
• Reading and interpreting engineering drawings, specifications and CNC programs.
• Selecting tooling, fixtures, cutting speeds and feeds for efficient machining.
• Editing CNC programs and adjusting offsets where required.
• Carrying out self-inspection using precision measuring equipment.
• Completing quality documentation and ensuring compliance with aerospace standards.
• Diagnosing machining issues and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
• Working closely with Engineering, Production and Quality teams while maintaining a safe and organised working environment.

About You

• Previous experience operating and programming CNC machinery within a precision engineering environment.
• The ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and geometric tolerances.
• Experience machining precision components within aerospace, defence or another highly regulated industry.
• Knowledge of quality inspection techniques and precision measuring equipment.
• Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to continuous improvement.
• A commitment to quality, safety and teamwork.
