Job summary

Newfield Fabrications Co. in the United Kingdom is seeking an experienced CNC Machine Operator to set up and run CNC machines with Siemens controls. You will interpret drawings, measure parts, and program machinery while maintaining quality and documentation.

The role starts with a day shift training period, followed by rotating shifts (6-2 and 2-10). Competitive pay with overtime, a starter incentive, and ongoing training are offered to support career development.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in fabrication or machining with CNC operation.
• Mechanical knowledge of milling and tooling.
• Maths ability for measurements and calculations during setup and production.
• Experience working with hand tools in a workshop environment.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC machines with Siemens controls, including milling and lathes, ensuring precision.
• Interpret technical drawings and use dimensional measuring equipment.
• Program CNC machinery using appropriate software and PLCs.
• Perform routine maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting of CNC equipment.
• Handle materials safely, including loading raw materials and managing tooling requirements.
• Conduct quality checks on finished components, ensuring tolerances meet specifications.
• Inspect own work using micrometres, verniers, height gauges, etc.
• Maintain accurate documentation of production processes and machine settings.
• Initially working day shift during training, then rotating shifts (6-2 and 2-10).
