Job summary

Advanced Engineering in Luton is seeking a skilled CNC Machinist for their established machining operation. You will set up and program CNC milling machines or lathes, read engineering drawings, and produce components to tight specifications on low-volume runs.

Average week includes rotating early shifts with a Friday finish, and a competitive salary of £46,200 including shift allowance. You will work with Hurco, Fanuc, Mazatrol/Mazak and other controls as required to maintain quality.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years' experience in engineering/manufacturing.
• Proven ability setting and operating CNC mills/lathe machines.
• Reading and interpreting engineering drawings accurately.
• Experience with CNC controls such as Hurco, Fanuc or Mazatrol is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Setting, programming and operating CNC milling machines or CNC lathes
• Machining components to engineering drawings and specifications
• Working to close tolerances and high-quality standards
• Using measuring equipment including micrometres and Vernier calipers
• Manufacturing and modifying tooling, jigs and fixtures where required
• Making adjustments to machine settings to ensure components meet specification
