Job summary

Fives Landis Ltd in Cross Hills, West Yorkshire, United Kingdom, is seeking a CNC Machinist for the on-site machine shop. You will operate a Waldrich Coburg Large Surface Grinder (Siemens 840D control) and interpret drawings to produce components ranging from 25 kg to 12,000 kg, with a focus on quality and on-time delivery.

Qualifications

• Experience in operating a medium to large surface grinder is preferred, however, training will be provided.
• Setting of components, composite grinding wheels, jigs and fixtures.
• Proficient in the use of measuring equipment to maintain drawing specifications
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings.
• Manufacturing components to achieve critical geometrical tolerancing and ensuring product conformity
• Time served apprenticeship certification.

Responsibilities

• Operate a Waldrich Coburg Large Surface Grinder (Siemens 840D control) ensuring consistent high quality production of critical components.
• Producing complex components to drawing specification ranging in size from 25kg up to 12000kg.
• Work from and interpret engineering drawings to ensure parts are produced to drawing specification.
• Apply knowledge of material characteristics and machining methods to ensure optimal productivity.
• Work with minimal supervision and plan workload effectively to achieve production targets.
• Foster a 'Right First Time' mindset in a quality driven environment.
• Understand, and work always, in line with Fives Values and Directives; specifically following the highest standards of health and safety.
