Job summary

Pertemps North Midlands is seeking an experienced CNC Machinist for a full-time, temp-to-perm role. The position offers a four-day week and a busy manufacturing environment producing precision parts for automotive, construction and marine sectors.

You will set up and operate CNC turning equipment, read engineering drawings, adjust tooling and offsets, and perform basic programming edits. Experience with XYZ controls is a plus; strong attention to accuracy and safety is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in CNC turning environment.
• Ability to set up and operate machines with minimal supervision.
• Competent in reading engineering drawings and applying tolerances.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC turning/lathe machines.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Select and set tooling; adjust offsets and machine settings.
• Carry out basic CNC programme edits when required.
• Inspect finished components using measuring equipment.
• Maintain quality and production standards.
• Support with auxiliary machinery as needed.
