Job summary

Pertemps North Midlands is seeking an experienced CNC Machinist to join our busy manufacturing team, producing precision parts for automotive, construction and marine sectors. You will set and operate CNC turning/lathe machines, read engineering drawings and adjust tooling and offsets to ensure high-quality components.

The role offers a four-day week and a clear path from temporary to permanent employment, with opportunities to develop skills and progress in a supportive team environment.

Qualifications

Experience in CNC turning environment with ability to set and operate machines.
Confidence with setting tools, adjusting offsets and making basic programme edits.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and inspect components.

Responsibilities

Setting and operating CNC turning/lathe machines
Reading and interpreting engineering drawings
Selecting and setting appropriate tooling
Adjusting tool offsets and machine settings
Carrying out basic CNC programme edits
Inspecting finished components using measuring equipment
Maintaining quality and production standards
Working safely and keeping the work area clean and organised
Supporting with saws, drillers, grinders and presses
