Job summary
Tata Steel in Corby is hiring an experienced Machinist Team Member for a busy engineering shop. You will operate CNC and manual machines, read precise drawings, and contribute to a major equipment upgrade project.
The role requires a time-served apprenticeship or NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering, plus experience with heavy industrial environments and a UK driving licence. 35 days holiday and a quarterly bonus are among the benefits.
Qualifications
- Time-served apprenticeship or NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering.
- Experience with manual lathes and milling machines and general workshop tools.
- Proven experience in a heavy industrial environment.
- Valid UK driving licence and access to own vehicle due to shift patterns.
- Understanding of safe systems of work.
Responsibilities
- Produce and repair one-off and small-batch components.
- Machine work on CNC lathes/mills and other workshop machines.
- Work to precise drawings and specifications.
- Maintain high standards of quality and delivery.
- Support transitions to upgraded engineering facilities.
