Job summary

Tata Steel UK is seeking an experienced Machinist Team Member for their Corby site. The role involves producing and repairing components across a range of machines, following precise drawings and specifications.

It offers a secure, long-term position within a progressive investment programme. The successful candidate will have a time-served apprenticeship/NVQ level 3 in Mechanical Engineering and strong experience with manual lathes, milling machines, and workshop tools in a heavy industrial

Qualifications

• Time-served apprenticeship and/or NVQ level 3 (Mechanical Engineering)
• Experience with manual lathes, milling machines, and general workshop tools
• Proven experience within a heavy industrial environment
• Desirable: CNC machines experience (setting/programming) and IOSH/NEBOSH safety qualification

Responsibilities

• Produce and repair one-off and small-batch components
• Carry out machining work on CNC lathes/mills and other machines
• Work to precise engineering drawings and specifications
• Manufacture items to a high standard from existing drawings
• Support transition to a newly built Engineering Shop with modernised equipment
• Adhere to safety and PPE instructions and COSHH regulations
• Support Apprentice training and continuous improvement efforts
