Job summary

Winbro Group Technologies is seeking an experienced CNC Machinist to join our Shepshed Toolroom, ready to set up and operate 3,4 and 5 axis CNC machining centres with Heidenhain controls. You will interpret engineering drawings and select tooling to produce components to tight tolerances in a fast-paced, precision environment.

Qualifications

• Strong 3,4 and 5 axis CNC machining experience with the ability to set up and operate independently.
• Proficient in interpreting engineering drawings and specifications.
• Experience with precision measurement and tight tolerances in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Set and operate CNC machining centres to manufacture precision tooling and components.
• Produce components to exact engineering specifications and tight tolerances.
• Interpret engineering drawings, work instructions and technical documentation.
• Select and set appropriate tooling, fixtures and machining strategies.
• Conduct in-process inspection and quality checks using precision measuring equipment.
• Identify and resolve machining issues to minimise scrap and downtime.
• Work collaboratively with Engineering, Programming and Production teams to ensure customer requirements are met.
• Support the development and optimisation of machining processes.
• Maintain a safe, clean and organised working environment.
• Proven experience operating CNC machining centres with 3,4 and 5 Axis machining capabilities.
• Strong working knowledge of Heidenhain controls.
• Ability to Set and Operate CNC machinery independently.
• Apprentice trained or qualified through relevant engineering/manufacturing experience.
• Previous experience working within a precision engineering, aerospace, toolroom or similar manufacturing environment.
• Ability to read, understand and interpret technical engineering drawings and specifications.
• Experience machining components to tight tolerances from 0.010mm upwards.
• Experience machining a wide range of materials, including ferrous and non-ferrous alloys, polymers, ceramic & composites.
• Strong understanding of tooling, cutting parameters and machining processes.
• Good level of numeracy, literacy and PC literacy.
• Ability to work accurately whilst maintaining the highest quality standards.

JOIN US as a CNC Machinist, based at our Shepshed manufacturing facility, and we can offer you an opportunity to work in a high-tech, specialist company working with some of the best global names in aerospace, medical, semiconductor and clean energy.

The working hours are 6am-2pm, Monday-Friday, with the understanding that the successful candidate may need to be prepared to temporarily switch working hours to 2pm-10pm if required, to meet business needs. We would, of course, always provide reasonable notice of any changes.

In our highly bespoke Toolroom, we are a highly-skilled team specialising in the manufacture of precision tooling and components used within our own EDM machining centres. Working with world-leading aerospace and industrial customers including major OEMs, we produce complex, high-precision tooling to exacting quality standards. Due to continued growth, we are seeking an experienced CNC Machinist to join our Toolroom team. The successful candidate will have strong 3, 4 and 5 Axis CNC machining experience, with the ability to Set and Operate CNC machining centres independently using Heidenhain controls. Programming experience is highly desirable. You will be responsible for machining complex components and tooling from a variety of materials, working to tight tolerances and engineering drawings within a fast-paced, precision manufacturing environment.
