Job summary

Yolk Recruitment Ltd is partnered with a local precision engineering business in Exeter, looking for an experienced CNC Miller for an evening shift (4-day week). You will set and operate CNC milling machines, including 3- to 4-axis Doosan mills, and edit programs with Fanuc controls while ensuring tight tolerances and high-quality components.

You will read engineering drawings, use standard measuring tools and CMM support where needed, and contribute to a safe, organized shop floor.

Qualifications

• Proven CNC milling experience in precision engineering/manufacturing.
• Experience setting and operating CNC milling machines with Fanuc controls.
• Ability to adjust programs and offsets as needed.
• Experience machining aluminium, steels, titanium, plastics or exotic alloys.
• Competent with measuring equipment and inspecting precision components.
• CAD/CAM knowledge (OneCNC) advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Set and operate CNC milling machines to produce components to specifications.
• Make program edits and offsets using Fanuc controls.
• Work with 3 and 4 axis Doosan milling machines across various batch and precision work.
• Inspect finished components using standard measuring equipment; support QA with CMM.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and specs to maintain tight tolerances.
• Maintain a clean, safe, organized work environment and follow procedures.

CNC Machinist

Evening Shift (4 Day Working Week - Monday - Thursday)

This is what you will be doing:

• Set and operate CNC milling machines to produce components to customer specifications.
• Make program edits and offsets using Fanuc controls.
• Work with 3 and 4 axis Doosan milling machines across a range of batch and precision work.
• Inspect finished components using standard measuring equipment and support quality checks using CMM equipment where required.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications to maintain tight tolerances and high-quality standards.
• Maintain a clean, safe and organised working environment while following company procedures and quality standards.
• Collaborate with supervisors and fellow machinists to support production targets and contribute positively to the team environment.

This is the experience you will bring to the role:

• Proven experience as a CNC Miller within a precision engineering or manufacturing environment.
• Experience setting and operating CNC milling machines with Fanuc controls.
• Ability to make program adjustments and tooling offsets confidently when required.
• Experience machining a variety of materials including aluminium, steels, titanium, plastics and exotic alloys.
• Competent using measuring equipment and inspecting precision-machined components.
• CMM experience and CAD/CAM knowledge, ideally OneCNC, would be advantageous.
