Job summary

An established industry player in precision parts manufacturing is seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to join their expanding team. This full-time role offers the opportunity to work across various shifts with comprehensive training provided. Job description

SPAW Engineering is a dedicated supplier of precision parts to European Turbo Charger Manufacturers. Due to the continued expansion of our business and product range, we have the following vacancy:

CNC Machinist – SETTER/OPERATOR – FULL TIME - Temporary leading to permanent

Operators wanted across all three of our current shifts – Full Training Given:

  1. Days Mon-Thurs 8am-6pm: £11.59ph - £14.30ph depending on experience
  2. Nights Mon-Thurs 8pm-8am: £14.57ph - £18.07ph depending on experience
  3. Weekends Fri-Sun 8am-8pm: £14.57ph - £18.07ph depending on experience

Setters must have previous experience with Fanuc controlled CNC Machining centres and/or Lathes. They are required to swap multiple machines over from one job to the next using pre-approved programs while adhering to customer-controlled standards. To do this, they must be able to:

  1. Change work holding – jigs/jaws/fixtures.
  2. Change work shifts to suit new work holding/part length.
  3. Reference tool lengths.
  4. Carefully prove out pre-approved programs to avoid machine collisions.
  5. Make alterations needed to ensure the product is produced to customer specifications within their tolerances using our standard and bespoke gauges and measuring equipment.
  6. Problem solve machining issues.
  7. Be involved in training lower skilled operators.

Rates of pay are dependent on skill and experience.
