Job summary

Advanced Resource Managers Ltd in West Kensington, London, is seeking a skilled CNC Machinist for a 6-month contract. You will set up and operate a full range of CNC equipment, read engineering drawings, and ensure components meet tight tolerances.

Applicants should hold a time-served engineering apprenticeship or NVQ and have experience with Okuma, Heidenhain or Fanuc controls. This on-site role offers a competitive hourly rate with Inside IR35.

Qualifications

• Must hold an engineering apprenticeship or NVQ and be time served.

• Capable of measuring with gauges and maintaining QC records.

Responsibilities

• Manufacture, modify or repair components as required.

• Assist/train others; complete paperwork and reports.
• Maintain clean, safe work area and equipment.
• Use gauges and interpret measurements to ensure quality.

CNC Machinist

6 Month Contract

Based in West Kensington, London

Offering £44.49ph Inside IR35

Do you hold a time served engineering apprenticeship or NVQ? Do you have experience using Okuma, Heidenhain, or Fanuc Controls? Do you want to work with an industry-leading company? If your answer to these is yes, then this could be the role for you!

You will be involved in:

• To manufacture items and make, modify, or repair components
• To set and operate a full range of plant and equipment including: saws, drills, milling machines & if appropriate, centre lathes, planers, CNC machine tools, and any other machines
• To assist/train other staff in the production of work as required
• To complete all paperwork and reports as required
• To ensure that the work area and all plant and equipment are maintained in a clean, tidy, and safe condition
• To use measuring instruments, gauges, and to interpret calculations and readings from the same
• To manufacture and sharpen cutting tools
• To maintain records of previous work and tag finished components for inspection
• To prepare numerical control part programmes and to install the same onto relevant machines along with appropriate tool memories, tooling, and fixtures
• To check and maintain machines for extraction, coolants, oils, and lubricants
• To index or change carbide tips in sufficient time to maintain quality of output
• Ensure that all activities and changes to equipment or process comply with all relevant safety and legal requirements
• Ensure that the planning of testing and trial activities includes the identification of appropriate risks and standards

Your skillset should include:

• Ability to read, understand, and comply with Engineering Drawings and specifications for machining
• Ability to machine materials, to specification, using appropriate tools to maintain quality and complying with the relevant safety procedures
• Ability to manufacture products with or without specification
• Ability to clean, oil, and lubricate machines using appropriate methods
• Ability to operate electric overhead cranes safely
• Ability to carry out the full range of Workshop calculations
• Ability to inspect material and judge its quality for use
• Ability to save and record amendments, failures of part programmes, and report them to the System Manager
• Ability to inspect finished components to specification
• Ability to carry out programming and prove out of components on CNC machine tools
• An Engineering apprenticeship and/or have the technical knowledge and relevant production skills to set and operate a wide range of machine tools to manufacture items to a high standard form complex drawings or specifications
• Experience programming and setting CNC, NC, or equivalent machines
