Job summary

Major Recruitment are recruiting for a CNC Operator on a permanent basis at their plant in Darlaston, West Midlands. The role involves setting up and operating 3 & 5 axis Hurco/Mazak mills, with WinMax on the console, and reading engineering drawings to tight tolerances.

You will work Monday to Thursday, 06:00am-06:00pm (40 hours/week), in a state-of-the-art machining facility that has undergone substantial investment. Aerospace experience is desirable for the candidate.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years machining experience, aerospace desirable.
• Experience setting and conversational programming on Hurco or Mazak milling machines.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate 3 & 5 Axis Hurco's and a Mazak using setting sheets.
• Conversational program, set up and operate Hurco 5-AXIS to produce precise components to specification using WinMax software at the console.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Check your own work using a range of measuring equipment.
• Completing one offs and batch work.
• Ensure that production requirements are met in line with the production schedule.

Major Recruitment are currently recruiting for a CNC Operator on a permanent basis to join a well-established manufacturing company based at their plant in Darlaston, West Midlands.

Hours of work are:

Monday to Thursday: 06:00am - 06:00pm (40 hours per week)

The CNC Operator will support the recent acquisition for 3 axis machinery, the role will be located within a state of the art machining facility which has been the recipient of substantial investment over recent years.

Duties & responsibilities of the role:

Candidate specification:

• Must have a min of 10 years of machining experience, Aerospace desirable.
• Experience of setting, operating and conversational programming on Hurco or Mazak milling machines is essential.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Experience of 3 & 5 Axis Machining is advantageous.
• Experience of working with graphite is advantageous.
