Qualifications

• Time served or highly experienced CNC Miller/Turner or Precision Machinist.
• Experience programming, setting and operating CNC machines.

• Experience with one-off and small-batch machining and tight tolerances.
• Ability to select tooling, workholding and machining parameters.
• Experience with jigs, fixtures and specialist workholding.
• Ability to inspect components and troubleshoot issues.

Experienced CNC Machinist - Milling

Are you an experienced CNC Machinist who enjoys producing complex, one off and small batch components rather than repetitive production work?

MILO is recruiting on behalf of an established engineering and manufacturing business looking to add an experienced CNC Machinist to its engineering team.

This is a hands on position for someone who can take ownership of a job from engineering drawing through to finished component. You will be working on a varied mix of precision components, tooling, jigs and fixtures where quality, accuracy and practical engineering ability are essential.

The Role

You will be responsible for setting, programming and operating CNC milling, producing one off and small batch precision components.

Working from engineering drawings, customer samples, specifications and 3D models, you will determine the best machining approach, select appropriate tooling and workholding, and manufacture components to demanding tolerances.

The role will include CNC programming, setting and operating, with experience of Heidenhain and/or HAAS controls particularly useful.

You will also manufacture and maintain jigs, fixtures and specialist workholding equipment, inspect completed components and troubleshoot machining, tooling and equipment issues.

This is not simply an operator position. We are looking for someone who understands machining, can solve problems and is comfortable taking responsibility for complex jobs with minimal supervision.

What We’re Looking For

You will ideally be a time served or highly experienced CNC Miller, CNC Turner, Toolmaker or Precision Machinist with a strong background in precision engineering.

You should have experience of:

• CNC programming, setting and operating
• CNC milling and/or CNC turning
• Heidenhain and/or HAAS controls
• Working from detailed engineering drawings
• One off and small batch machining
• Working to tight tolerances
• Tool selection, workholding and machining parameters
• Jigs, fixtures and specialist components
• Component inspection and quality control
• Diagnosing and solving machining and tooling problems

Manual machining experience would also be valuable.

Above all, you will be someone who takes pride in producing high quality engineering work and who is comfortable tackling components that require thought, experience and precision.
