Job summary

Pertemps Black Country Perms is seeking an experienced CNC Machinist for its Witton, Birmingham site. The role offers a salary of £44,000-£48,000 per year, with a 4 on/4 off shift pattern from 6:00am to 6:00pm.

You will set and operate CNC milling/turning machines, read engineering drawings, and contribute to maintaining high production quality. The position requires a strong eye for detail and teamwork within a manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Experience setting and operating CNC milling and/or turning machines.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and technical specifications.
• Knowledge of tooling, machine setup and machining techniques.
• Good numerical and measurement skills.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Understanding of quality control and production documentation.

Responsibilities

• Set and operate CNC and conventional milling, turning, sawing and other machine tools.
• Machine and cut materials to engineering specifications.
• Identify and record material references accurately.
• Set up machines, install tooling and adjust settings.
• Inspect components using precision measuring equipment.
• Complete production and quality documentation.
• Handle materials using forklifts, cranes and slinging equipment.
• Carry out routine maintenance and basic fault-finding.
• Follow health, safety and quality procedures.
• Work with colleagues to meet production targets.

Key Responsibilities

• Set and operate CNC and conventional milling, turning, sawing and other machine tools.
• Machine and cut materials to engineering specifications.
• Identify and record material references accurately.
• Set up machines, install tooling and adjust settings.
• Inspect components using precision measuring equipment.
• Complete production and quality documentation.
• Handle materials using forklifts, cranes and slinging equipment.
• Carry out routine maintenance and basic fault-finding.
• Follow health, safety and quality procedures.
• Work with colleagues to meet production targets.
