Job summary

Holt Engineering Ltd in Christchurch, United Kingdom, is seeking a Fabrication Operative to join a busy manufacturing team. You will operate CNC equipment and automated machinery, preparing materials for fabrication and assembly while reading technical drawings and following production documents.

The role requires hands-on experience in fabrication/manufacturing, with a strong focus on accuracy, safety and quality. Overtime is available and a discretionary annual bonus scheme is offered.

Qualifications

• Previous experience operating machinery within a fabrication or manufacturing environment is essential.
• Able to read and work from technical drawings and production information.
• Good understanding of accuracy, quality and safe working practices.

Responsibilities

• Operate automated machinery, CNC equipment, saws and related workshop machinery.
• Process materials accurately to specifications.
• Work from drawings, cut lists, job sheets and production documents.
• Load materials and select programmes and tooling.
• Carry out quality checks on finished components.
• Identify and report defects, errors or machinery issues.
• Perform basic machine maintenance, cleaning and housekeeping.
• Prepare components for fabrication and assembly teams.
• Assist with material handling, packing and loading when required.
