Job summary

Dovetail And Slate Limited is seeking a CNC/Machinist Lecturer in Essex to inspire and educate the next generation of technicians and engineers. The role blends practical workshop teaching with CNC theory to prepare learners for industry.

You’ll design, deliver and assess machining and CNC programmes across levels, bringing current industry practices into the classroom and helping to shape a relevant curriculum. We welcome applicants from industry and support moves into education.

Qualifications

• Substantial practical experience in CNC, machining or precision engineering.
• The ability to teach and demonstrate practical skills clearly to learners.
• A commitment to helping learners achieve and progress.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• Relevant Level 3 Qualification.

Responsibilities

• Designing, planning, delivering and assessing machining and CNC programmes across a range of levels.
• Delivering a mix of practical workshop teaching and underpinning theory.
• Bringing current industry practice and standards into your teaching.
• Assessing learner work fairly and giving clear, constructive feedback.
• Creating a safe, positive and supportive workshop environment.
• Monitoring learner progress and adapting your teaching to meet individual needs.
• Working with colleagues to develop and keep the curriculum relevant.
