Job summary

Dovetail And Slate Limited in Essex is seeking an experienced CNC/Machinist Lecturer to design, plan, deliver and assess machining and CNC programmes, blending hands-on workshop teaching with the theory learners need.

You will use your industry experience to inspire learners across levels, create a safe workshop environment, monitor progress and help keep the curriculum current. A teaching qualification is desirable but not essential.

Qualifications

• Substantial practical experience in CNC, machining or precision engineering.
• Ability to teach and demonstrate practical skills clearly to learners.
• Commitment to helping learners achieve and progress.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• Relevant Level 3 Qualification.

Responsibilities

• Designing, planning, delivering and assessing machining and CNC programmes across a range of levels.
• Delivering a mix of practical workshop teaching and underpinning theory.
• Bringing current industry practice and standards into your teaching.
• Assessing learner work fairly and giving clear, constructive feedback.
• Creating a safe, positive and supportive workshop environment.
• Monitoring learner progress and adapting your teaching to meet individual needs.
• Working with colleagues to develop and keep the curriculum relevant.
