Job summary

DuPont is seeking a full-time Mechanical Engineering Technician to join the Ridgeway, VA site. The ideal candidate will have an Associate’s degree in Engineering Technology and extensive hands-on experience with CNC programming, CAD/CAM modeling, and tooling fabrication.

The role involves designing fixtures, programming CNC centers, supporting manufacturing improvements, and collaborating with the Pencader site team in Newark, DE. Strong communication, GD&T, and detail orientation are essential.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in mechanical engineering technology or a related field.
• Minimum 10 years of experience.
• Proficiency in CNC programming.
• Proficiency in CAD/CAM 3D modeling.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel for data analysis, documentation, and reporting.
• Detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy and quality.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
• Proficiency in ASME 14.5 Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing.

Responsibilities

• Provide on-site technical support for manufacturing operations including CNC machining of Vespel parts and shapes.
• Program and optimize CNC machining centers
• Design and fabricate tooling, fixtures, and inspection gauges for discrete part manufacturing
• Oversee the Management of Change (MOC) process to ensure production/technology changes are thoroughly reviewed and documented.
• Create work instructions to support new parts and operations.
• Support capital planning for manufacturing and facility equipment needs.
• Provide project support, including development of basic data, documentation management, and technical assistance.
• Interface with the Manufacturing Technology and Quality organizations at the Pencader site
• Provide regular updates and communicate progress to project team leaders and stakeholders.
• Understand and adhere to Pencader Mechanical Drafting standards and practices
