Millitec designs, manufactures, and builds high-end automated machinery for the food industry — and we’re growing fast. We're now looking for a skilled and proactive CNC Machine Shop Team Leader to oversee daily operations and help drive performance in our workshop.

What You’ll Be Doing

Working from our workshop in Draycott, Derbyshire, you'll lead a small team and oversee production across 10 machining centres. This is a hands-on leadership role with a focus on quality, productivity, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

• Interpret engineering drawings to machine high-quality parts to spec
• Set and operate CNC turning machines (Haas control)
• Where needed, manage multiple machines to meet deadlines
• Supervise the day-to-day activity on the shop floor
• Liaise with Design and Planning teams to improve manufacturability
• Support production scheduling and ensure priorities are clear and achievable
• Identify process improvements to maximise output and machine utilisation
• Maintain coolant quality and manage tooling levels
• Ensure compliance with Health & Safety, environmental, and quality standards
• Provide training and guidance to both new and existing team members

What We’re Looking For

• Minimum 2 years’ experience as a CNC setter/ operator or similar role
• Proven experience in setting and operating CNC turning machines
• Experience leading or supervising a team in a workshop setting
• Experience with Haas control systems
• Experience setting and operating vertical machining centres and lathes
• Knowledge of Mastercam or CAD/CAM software (advantageous)
• Strong communication, organisational, and planning skills
• Engineering qualification or apprenticeship (advantageous)
