Job summary

Precision Components Ltd in Rochdale is seeking a CNC Setter-Operator for Turning and Milling to set up and run CNC machines producing precision components to exacting tolerances. You will interpret drawings, select tools, and monitor quality throughout the process.

The role requires at least three years as a CNC Operator/Setter Turner on VMCs/HMCs, with FANUC experience and a capability to work with tight tolerances.

Qualifications

• Minimum three years' experience as CNC Operator/Setter Turner on VMCs and HMCs.
• FANUC experience and capable of setting machines for a variety of components.
• Experience producing complex components to very tight tolerances.
• Ability to work efficiently with minimum supervision.
• Lean principles knowledge and continuous improvement mindset.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC turning machines with FANUC controls.
• Interpret technical drawings and modify programmes to part specifications.
• Select and install cutting tools, attachments, and fixtures.
• Conduct quality control inspections using micrometers, gauges, and verniers.
• Monitor operations and troubleshoot cutting conditions.
• Perform routine maintenance to ensure optimal performance.
• Collaborate with team members to optimise production processes.

Precision Components Ltd is a leading manufacturing of compressor rotor screws based in Rochdale. We specialise in the manufacture of high-quality, precision engineered helical components for various industries. We are seeking a Miller and a Turner.

What You'll Be Doing

As our CNC Setter-Operator for Turning operations or Milling operations, you'll set up and operate CNC turning machines to produce precision components to rigorous quality standards.

• Set up and operate CNC turning machines with FANUC controls

What We're Looking For

• Minimum three years' experience as time-served CNC Operator/Setter Turner on VMCs and HMCs
• FANUC experience and capable of setting machines for variety of components
• Experience producing complex components to very tight tolerances
• Ability to work efficiently with minimum supervision
• Qualified Advanced Modern Apprenticeship or recognised time-served certification
• Knowledge of metal cutting techniques and Lean principles
• Flexibility to work rotating shift pattern and overtime when required
• Knowledge of Doosan VMC/HMC would be advantageous
