Job Description

AMJ Recruitment is currently seeking an experienced CNC Punch Operator to join a well-established manufacturing business in the Newcastle Under Lyme area. This role offers an opportunity to grow with the company and be part of their long-term plans.

Shift & Pay

• Day Shifts (Monday to Thursday: 07:00am - 16:00pm; Friday: 07:00am - 13:00pm)
• Pay: £12.60 - £13.74 per hour, dependent on experience (rising when permanent)

Contract Details

• Temp to Perm after 12 weeks
• Start Date: ASAP (subject to successful interview)

Purpose of the Role

Configure and operate punch presses to cut, shape, and form metal used in the production of doors, based on CAD designs. Perform cutting, blending, punching, and forming actions.

Key Duties

• Make correct set-ups for punch machine operations
• Operate panel benders, load programs, and check corrections
• Maintain tooling
• Select punch programs
• Position and remove parts from the die
• Perform dimensional inspections
• Conduct routine operator maintenance
• Achieve or exceed set production targets and KPIs
• Detect and report defective materials or questionable conditions to management

Experience Requirements

• Ideally 3 years of CNC punch and/or fold operating experience
• Ideally 1 year of metal door manufacturing experience
• Previous training and awareness in safety, electrostatic discharge, and foreign object damage
