Job summary

Woodlands of Kingston is seeking an experienced CNC Joinery Machinist to join their Kingston machine shop. This hands-on role requires CNC machining expertise in a joinery or woodworking setting and the ability to read technical drawings to produce bespoke components.

The successful candidate will operate and set CNC machinery, select tooling, run productions to specification, perform quality checks and support broader shop activities.

Qualifications

• Hands-on CNC machining experience within joinery or woodworking manufacturing.
• Ability to read and work from technical drawings.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Practical, reliable and hardworking approach.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• CNC programming experience would be desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Operate and set CNC machinery in the machine shop.
• Produce bespoke joinery components to drawings and specifications.
• Work from technical drawings and production information.
• Set up machinery and select appropriate tooling.
• Carry out quality checks throughout production.
• Identify and report tooling, programme or machine issues.
• Support general machine shop activities and production requirements.
• Maintain a clean, safe and organised working environment.
• Collaborate with joinery and production teams and drive process improvements.
