Job summary

Optical Precision in Hemel Hempstead is seeking a skilled CNC Grinder to operate Studer grinders on the late shift, 6PM-4AM, Monday to Thursday. This permanent, on-site role focuses on high-precision aerospace components and requires strict adherence to tolerances.

You will set up and monitor CNC grinding processes, interpret engineering drawings, and contribute to process improvements while maintaining safety and quality standards in a collaborative team environment.

Qualifications

• Experience setting and operating Studer CNC grinders and manual machines.
• Understanding of trigonometry or mathematical concepts.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Commercial awareness and professionalism.
• Basic computer and numerical skills.
• Ability to work to tight tolerances with supervision as required.
• Overtime availability may be required.
• Integrity in all aspects of the role.

Responsibilities

• Set, operate, and manage CNC grinding equipment (Studer).
• Monitor machining processes and make adjustments as required.
• Perform in-process quality checks to tight aerospace tolerances.
• Interpret engineering drawings with precision.
• Maintain safe working practices and adhere to production standards.
• Collaborate with colleagues to ensure high-quality output.
