Job summary

Optima UK Inc Ltd in the United Kingdom is seeking a Field Service Engineer (CNC) to service and maintain a range of CNC machine tools at customer sites.

You will carry out scheduled servicing, fault diagnosis, and repairs, with travel across the North of England and occasional UK/Ireland visits. A time-served engineering apprenticeship is required.

Excellent communication, health and safety adherence, and a proactive problem-solving approach are essential; a company vehicle is provided.

Qualifications

• Time-served engineer with a recognised engineering apprenticeship or equivalent qualification.
• Based within the Greater Manchester area, with the ability to travel to customer sites across the North of England and occasionally throughout the UK and Ireland.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Proactive approach to fault finding and problem solving.
• Good knowledge of CNC turning and milling machine tools.
• Previous experience servicing or maintaining CNC machine tools is desirable.
• Experience with Fanuc, Siemens and/or Heidenhain CNC controls is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Carry out scheduled servicing and preventative maintenance on CNC machine tools.
• Diagnose faults and carry out repairs where required.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, providing a professional service at all times.
• Ensure all work is completed in accordance with company health and safety procedures.
• Complete service documentation accurately and communicate technical information internally in line with company quality processes.
