Job summary

Catering in the United Kingdom seeks a CNC Engineer to join its high-volume manufacturing site, focusing on aluminium diecast parts produced on high-speed 5-axis machines. The role requires proven CNC programming and setting experience in a production environment and a solid apprenticeship or college certification.

You will support daily production, optimize machine performance, monitor quality, develop process docs, drive TPM and 5S, and mentor colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Set procedures and standards.
• Drive TPM and 5S.
• Train, mentor and guide others on safe equipment operation.
• Other related duties as determined by the Process Engineering Manager or Process Engineers.

Job description

A recognised high volume manufacturer are currently looking to strengthen their Engineering department with the appointment of a CNC Engineer.

As CNC Engineer, you will have a proven track record and experience in machining aluminium diecast components on high speed 5 axis machines.

Working from their manufacturing facility, the CNC Engineer will be responsible for:

• Support production on a daily basis.
• Competent in running CNCs and all aspects of the machine performance, fault finding and diagnostics.
• Maintain hydraulic fixture operation, clamping repeatability and machining position to casting.
• Change tools, track tool life, investigate tool breakages.
• Monitor part quality, adjust offsets and improve process capability.
• Develop and maintain process documentation as well as assist in the generation of SWIs.
• Set procedures and standards
• Drive TPM and 5S
• Train, mentor and guide others on how to operate equipment safely and correctly
• Other related duties as determined by the Process Engineering Manager or Process Engineers.

The successful candidate should be apprentice served or have a formal college certification and proven CNC machine programmning and setting in production environment.
