Job summary

Acorn Recruitment is seeking a skilled CNC Press Brake Operator / Sheet Metal Operative for a permanent role in Willand near Cullompton. The position offers a 40-hour week (Mon-Fri) from 8am-5pm with overtime opportunities and a salary range of £33,000-£37,000.

You will read drawings, operate CNC brakes and other sheet metal machinery, ensure high-quality parts and meet production targets in a friendly, supportive environment.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Press Brake Operator is essential.
• Experience with CNC-controlled brakes is required.
• Experience folding stainless steel, galvanised, aluminium and steel is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret technical drawings to manufacture sheet metal parts.
• Set and operate CNC press brakes and related machinery.
• Measure and cut sheet metal accurately to spec.
• Check finished products for quality and tolerance.
• Work efficiently to meet production targets and deadlines.

What We Offer

• £30,000-£35,000 salary based on a 40-hour week.
• Monday to Friday, 8am-5pm.
• Overtime available at flat rate during the week.
• Saturday overtime paid at time and a half.

Key Responsibilities

• Read and interpret technical drawings to manufacture sheet metal parts and components.
• Use a variety of tools and machinery, including CNC, press brakes, rollers, guillotines and punching machines.
• Measure and cut sheet metal accurately according to specifications.
• Check the quality of finished products, ensuring they meet high standards.
• Work efficiently and independently to meet production targets and deadlines.
• Set and operate CNC press brakes, working to tight tolerances.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Press Brake Operator is essential.
• Experience with CNC-controlled brakes.
• Experience folding stainless steel, galvanised, aluminium and steel is preferred.
• Great attention to detail.
• Passion for sheet metal fabrication.
