Job summary

JDR Recruitment is partnering with a local manufacturing company to recruit a Machine Operative for Pleasley, Nottinghamshire. The role focuses on operating CNC and Band Saw machines with a strong emphasis on quality and safety, including basic measurements and reading technical instructions.

You will join a busy shift pattern (Mon-Thu 07:30-16:00, Fri 07:00-13:00) with a temp-to-perm path after 12 weeks, subject to attendance and performance. Applicants must have the right to work in the UK.

Qualifications

• Experience in production or manufacturing environments preferred.
• Good mechanical aptitude and ability to learn technical processes.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced setting with attention to detail.
• Comfortable with basic measurements and reading technical instructions.
• Physically capable of standing for long periods and handling materials.
• Some CNC/Bandsaw experience.
• Experience with hand tools and power tools.
• Must have the legal right to work in the UK.

Responsibilities

• Operate CNC and Band Saw machines safely.
• Conduct basic quality checks to ensure finished products meet specifications.
• Report defects, inconsistencies, or machine issues to supervisors.
• Workplace Safety & Maintenance.
• Adhere to all safety procedures and company policies.
• Participate in hands-on training sessions to improve on CNC machining skills.
• Take initiative to improve processes and enhance efficiency.
