Isembard in London is seeking a CMM Programmer to program, set and run coordinate measuring machines to verify high-precision components for aerospace, defence, energy and robotics customers. You will work alongside machinists, CAM programmers and quality engineers so that what leaves the factory conforms.
The role focuses on writing and optimizing CMM programmes, selecting probing strategies, and maintaining calibration while contributing to inspection data capture within MasonOS.
Isembard is building a network of high-performance factories for critical industries. We combine advanced machine tools, robotics and our own software, MasonOS, to make precision components for aerospace, defence, energy and frontier technology companies, with factories across the UK, US, Germany and France. Our mission is to forge industrial acceleration.
Inspection is the last point where a mistake is cheap to fix, and at our London factory it decides how quickly finished parts reach customers.
As a CMM Programmer you will programme, set and run coordinate measuring machines to verify high-precision components for aerospace, defence, energy and robotics customers. You will work alongside machinists, CAM programmers and quality engineers so that what leaves the factory conforms.
Write, simulate and optimise CMM programmes for complex geometry and tight tolerances.
Choose probing, fixturing and datum strategies, and build inspection fixtures where needed.
Carry out first article inspection (AS9102 / EN 9102), in-process checks and final inspection.
Find non-conformances before they reach a customer, and feed corrective actions back into production with machining and CAM.
Look after calibration and maintenance of CMMs, gauges and hand tools.
Keep programmes and inspection records controlled and reusable, and help the MasonOS team capture and use inspection data.
Help streamline inspection as throughput grows.
Several years of hands-on CMM programming in precision manufacturing, aerospace or a machine shop.
Strong PC-DMIS, Zeiss Calypso, Renishaw Modus or comparable software skills.
Practical knowledge of GD&T (ASME Y14.5) and ISO GPS, and confidence with complex drawings and 3D CAD.
Proven ability to inspect tolerances of ±0.01 mm and below.
Experience with aerospace inspection documentation, including FAI.
Analytical judgement: you find the cause, not just the deviation.
SPC, capability analysis or measurement system analysis.
AS9100 / EN 9100 experience.
In-process probing on 5-axis machines.
High-mix, low-to-medium volume production.
Work at the centre of the factory's quality, on advanced machines and metrology equipment.
Help set inspection standards other sites reuse.
Competitive salary and equity.
Location: On-site at our Southwark factory in London.
