Job summary

Lymington Precision Engineers, part of the Senior Flexonics Group, is seeking a CMM Inspector to inspect components to drawing tolerances with high attention to detail. The role supports manufacturing, ensuring timely production and accurate data.

Hours are 39 per week, dayshift, with a 30-minute lunch break. Candidate will perform in-process and final inspections, maintain quality documentation, and raise nonconformities as needed.

Qualifications

• Must have the right to live and work in the UK (Essential).
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a high precision manufacturing environment.
• Proficient in alternate controls software to create inspection programs.
• Experience in a similar role and knowledge of CMM best practices.
• Deep understanding of GD&T and drawing tolerances.
• Proficient in Word and Excel; COSMOS experience desirable.

Responsibilities

• Inspect parts using CMM or manual methods and adjust CMM programs.
• Perform in-process, first off and final inspections and evaluate conformance.
• Raise nonconforming material and support corrective actions.
• Maintain documentation and reports (PCPs, CRITICAL features, FAIR data).
• Prove out CMM programs and ensure robust inspection practices.

Job Description

CMM Inspector - What does the job involve?

The main purpose of the position is to ensure components are inspected to drawing tolerance, specifications, efficiently and accurately with a high attention to detail. Ensure that robust inspection practices and techniques are employed in an efficient manner for all customer products. To fully support the manufacturing process and ensure production is not delayed.

Hours of work: 39 hours per week.

Dayshift - Monday to Thursday 6.45am to 3.30pm and Friday 7.00am to 1.00pm with 30-minute unpaid break for lunch

CMM Inspector - What will my responsibilities include?

• Inspect parts, using CMM or manual methods, adjusting CMM programs
• Multiset CMM’s When Required.
• Perform in process, first off and final inspection activities on all products and evaluate conformance to engineering requirements
• Ensures all quality related matters are raised during Inspection to the Quality or Production Team for resolution.
• Maintaining a quality first outlook on all inspection activities and decisions made
• Ensures that all documentation and reports are maintained and completed accurately. This could be updating PCP’s, Critical feature requirements and FAIR Data.
• Raise nonconforming material/products and support corrective action activity / investigations when required.

CMM Inspector - What key skills and experience do I need?

• Must have the right to live and work in the UK (Essential)
• A Minimum of 3 years’ experience working within a high precision manufacturing environment.
• Proficient in alternate controls software to create programs for inspection.
• Previous experience working in a similar role
• Understanding of CMM Best practice techniques.
• In Depth Knowledge of GD & T.
• Work to high level of accuracy
• Understanding of drawing tolerances & specifications.
• Proficient in the use of IT Software, including Word & Excel
• Working knowledge of Mitutoyo CMM’s using COSMOS Platform – Desirable

Qualifications

CMM Inspector - What qualificationsshould I have?

• Recognised CMM Training or Programmer/operator training.
• ONC/HNC level or equivalent Certified internal auditor (Desirable)
• Full apprenticeship/time served in machining or relevant skills applicable to the role. (Desirable)
• Security Clearance (Desirable)
