Job summary

Hyde Group is seeking a skilled CMM Inspector to join our quality team at the Stockport site. You will inspect parts at 1st off, final, and FAIR stages, and communicate non-conformities to operators with training input. A strong QA mindset and aerospace/manufacturing experience are essential.

You will drive continuous improvements, work with 3D/2D drawings, and apply CMM software to support compliant, right-first-time manufacture in a fast-paced aerospace supplier environment.

Qualifications

• Excellent communications skills are imperative.
• Strong team working ethic, pro-active and motivated.
• Ability to read/interpret 3D models & 2D drawings.
• Experience in a CMM software, preferably Camio.
• Customer facing skills with proactive problem solving.
• Solid engineering background with QA emphasis.
• Good understanding of QMS (Aerospace/Automotive).
• Understanding of AS9100 and FAIRS processes.
• Experience with inspection tools and reading inspection reports.
• Solid knowledge of inspection/manufacturing techniques.
• Experience in CNC machining is preferred.
• IT literate: SAP, MS Project, Excel, PowerPoint.
• Lean/Six Sigma knowledge; attention to detail.
• Flexibility to work varying hours.

Responsibilities

• Inspect jobs at multiple stages (1st off, final, FAIR) per customer requirements.
• Provide operators timely feedback on non-conformities and training needs.
• Drive continuous improvements and support wider CI activities.

• As a CMM Inspector, you will be responsible for inspecting jobs at various stages of the machining inspection process (1st off, final inspection and FAIR inspection) in line with customer requirements (capture specific measurements from customer requirements).
• You will also be responsible for providing machine operators timely feedback on product non-conformities, highlighting any training needs to supervisors and assist them with any technical queries.
• Youll use your experience to seek out and drive continuous improvements to identify and resolve issues within your control, also contributing towards wider continuous improvement activities.

Preferred Skills

• Ideally Camio but working knowledge of others will be taken into consideration.

• Good understanding of the quality management systems (QMS) in either Aerospace/Automotive industry.
• Understanding of AS9100.
• FAIRS process experience preferred.
• Experience of various inspection tools and the ability to understand inspection reports.
• Good understanding of Inspection and manufacturing techniques.
• Experience of CNC machining is preferred.
• IT literate, in particular SAP, Microsoft Project, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills (Lean/six sigma knowledge preferred).
• The ability to work flexible hours should the business need arise.
