Job summary

Select Engineering is seeking a metrology technician to operate and program GOM Scanbox and CMMs for dimensional inspections. You will interpret engineering drawings and GD&T, generate inspection reports, and support process improvements on the shop floor.

The role requires NVQ Level 3 or time served apprenticeship, strong communication skills, and the ability to work on-site in Birmingham within a 3-shift pattern.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 or time served apprenticeship relevant to metrology.
• Ability to interpret drawings and GD&T.
• Experience programming GOM Scanbox and Zeiss Calypso.

Responsibilities

• Operate and program GOM Scanbox equipment for dimensional inspection.
• Operate and program CMMs to inspect components and assemblies.
• Conduct first article, in-process, and final inspections per quality requirements.
• Produce and analyse inspection reports using metrology software.
