Job summary

Safran Engineering Services in the UK is seeking a Configuration Manager for a 6-month contractor role Inside IR35, onsite in Pitstone. You will lead configuration management activities across the product lifecycle, ensuring data integrity and traceability within the PLM tool.

You will plan CM for new and existing projects, write and maintain the CM Plan, manage CI/BOM in PLM, coordinate change control boards as Co-Chair, and release configuration documentation.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years Configuration Management experience in a rigorous engineering/technical or data management environment.
• Working knowledge of CM Standards: ISO10007.
• Experience in Aerospace, Space, Military, Automotive, or Petro-Chemical Industry.
• Excellent logical thinker.

Responsibilities

• Perform CM planning for new and existing projects, defining an effective tailored CM Implementation.
• Write and maintain the CM Plan in accordance with Safran policies and contractual/tender requirements.
• Implement the Approved CM Plan within the Project lifecycle.
• Create and manage Configuration Items (CI's), Product Structures & Bill of Materials (BOM) in the PLM tool.
• Participate in design/stage reviews (PDR, CDR) and related CM activities.
• Establish and maintain configuration baselines (FBL, ABL, PBL).
• Implement the configuration change system and manage Change Control Boards as Co-Chair.
• Coordinate and control the configuration change process and ensure traceability end-to-end.
• Establish, maintain and release milestone Configuration Documentation.
