My Client is creating a new cluster with 2 shops in Manchester and 2 shops in Liverpool – to start!
We are looking for a Cluster Manager who can maximise retail sales and net profit, and to build motivated and high performing teams through effective leadership. This role has full P&L accountability for all retail stores to ensure that all stores profitable.
What your Day to Day will look like :
Work alongside Head of Retail to implement the retail plan at store level
Seek feedback from customers and stores to generate ideas about future retail activities that will ensure a cutting-edge strategy
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the market-place, competitors and trends
Visit stores on a regular basis, potentially more for those managers who need extra support / training
Assist with creation of budgets and support the retail element of the annual budget process, ensuring understanding and buy-in from the Store Managers
Continually review financial data and support the Head of Retail by providing realistic input for the sales budgets
Analyse weekly data to ensure all stores control their stock and cost budgets
Make decisions on matters relating to day-to-day retail operations, including the strategic planning of resources
Translate strategic goals into retail operational plans to achieve the required targeted growth in sales and profit
Identify and optimise promotional opportunities, ensuring these are co‑ordinated with wider Company promotions and campaigns
Ensure the stores comply with all policies and procedures relating to Security, Health & Safety and GDPR, influencing any changes necessary to meet statutory requirements whilst minimising risk to colleagues and the business
Ensure all new shop proposals meet the required return on sales prior to submitting any recommendations to the Head of Retail
Spend time in the stores with retail teams and customers to understand and identify business critical issues and ensure the alignment of tactics and strategies, maintaining the corporate identity in all stores and related initiatives
Take a lead role in building a strong sales management culture with the team
Spend time coaching Store Managers, identifying skills and opportunities for development and providing advice / guidance when needed
Work with the HR Manager to ensure people management issues are satisfactorily resolved and that all relevant HR policies and procedures are adhered to
Chair disciplinary, grievance, capability hearings and appeals as required
Proactively manage and review the performance and progress of Store Managers and their stores, setting targets and objectives
Complete monthly 1-1s with store managers
Arrange weekly cluster team meetings with store managers
Instigate the creation of procedures and systems to maximise Store Manager and team recruitment and retention
Manage compliance for all Store Managers in the training of retail teams whilst ensuring complete adherence to HR systems and procedures
Produce and present a range of financial and non‑financial reports for the Head of Retail as required
Carry out regular visits to competitors and feed back to the Head of Retail
Maintain and continuously develop innovative and cost‑effective stock management
Monitor stock weekly to achieve bottom line sales budget against monthly targets
Note : Flexibility to be able to work weekends (ideally 2 Saturdays per month, with a day off during the week is required.
