Job summary

Hartford Care is seeking a Maintenance Person in the Newport area ( TF10 ) to provide general maintenance and caretaking for the home and its grounds. The role requires a full-time, 40-hour week and a valid driving licence with car access; mileage is reimbursed.

You will join a caring team dedicated to a happy environment and resident well-being. Responsibilities include painting, decorating, basic repairs, fire alarm checks, and assisting with room preparations for new residents.

Responsibilities

• Provide general maintenance and caretaking to the home and grounds.
• Assist with decorating, carpet laying, and light bulb changes as needed.
• Perform fire alarm checks and other safety-related tasks with care.

The Role

The Role

As a Maintenance Person, you will be providing a general maintenance and caretaking service to ensure the home and grounds (including gardens where required) are well maintained as required, and working together as a team to create a happy and caring atmosphere.

Requirements

Essential:

• A compassionate and caring nature
• Good level of skills and experience in carrying out general maintenance
• Robust and high-quality painting and decorating experience with a keen eye for detail
• Excellent communication skills
• Good IT skills and knowledge (including robust skills in using apps and systems on iPads and other IT equipment)
• Good knowledge of Health & Safety regulations
• Strong organisation and planning skills
• Able to work on own initiative as well as part of a team
• A flexible approach to working hours
• Full and clean driving license

It would be desirable if you have previously been trained as the Legionella Responsible Person in your workplace.
